Mathematics would be a wonderfully engaging and joy-spreading subject if it is taught right. Although there is no fixed formulae to ensure consistently productive Mathematics classes, active learning may constantly engaged and happily challenged to understand and tackle simple to complex mathematical tasks. It provides a platform to both students and teachers to enthusiastically participate in the learning experiences. Through this workshop, we invite teachers to think about and learn how to blend various successful strategies and activities to boost learning in a “Mathematics Classroom”.

Workshop Leader: Ms. Sadia Anwer is in the field of education for the past 12 years. She has been a senior teacher for secondary level for more than seven years and has a special interest in Mathematics. Sadia is a TRC qualified early childhood educator and has a rich experience of training teachers and designing classroom resources especially for under resourced schools. She works with TRC as a member of the Training and Development Team.

    Stories are an essential part of the learning experience. While traditional storytelling methodologies for learning are timeless; the pandemic has pushed us into a hybrid learning environment where digital domain for learning is the new norm. This workshop will engage the attendees to utilise animated books and stories from lambkinz as an interactive learning medium and tool. The participants will explore storytelling through a new angle of animation and will be able to devise a plan to implement digital storytelling in hybrid (physical + digital) classrooms.
