Young children often behave in confusing or challenging ways, which is their way of communicating.  Therefore educators need to observe, document, and analyse children’s behaviour in order to  understand what the children are trying to ‘tell’ them, and accordingly plan appropriate lessons  and effective individualised instruction for each child.

Objectives:

  • understand the significance of observation for a professional early childhood educator
  • identify the professional responsibilities and ethics of observation and assessment
  • explore a variety of tools and techniques to record the observation of children

Workshop Leader: Ms. Rubina Naqvi has B.Sc / B.Ed degrees from Karachi University. She is an accredited trainer and holds a Diploma in Professional Studies from University of Bradford, UK. She brings with her 43 years of experience in the field of education which includes teaching, training teachers, and school management. Currently she is a member of the Training and Development Team at TRC and is working in the capacity of Senior Manager, Membership Network since the last 19 years.
