Creating a safe and nurturing environment in an early years classroom is essential for the holistic development of young children. A safe and supportive classroom fosters a positive and engaging learning experience, helping children to feel confident in exploring their surroundings and engaging with others. In this environment, teachers can encourage children to take risks, make mistakes, and grow in their own unique ways. This workshop will explore the key elements of creating a safe and secure environment in an early years classroom.

  • discuss characteristics of safe indoor and outdoor environments
  • explore the role of the teacher in creating a safe environment that supports the children’s learning and development

Workshop Leader: Ms. Tabinda Jabeen has 20 years of professional experience as a teacher and teacher educator. She is an early childhood education and development expert who has been designing and conducting teachers’ trainings for the last 12 years in both the public and private sectors. At TRC, Tabinda has been involved with multi stakeholder ECE projects at both provincial and national levels. Her areas of expertise include training design, learning material development, monitoring and classroom support and research.
