It is essential for early childhood practitioners to identify factors and theories that influence the dramatic changes in children during the first 8 years of their lives. This workshop will help teachers reflect and improve their pedagogical skills, and plan according to the developmental needs of young learners.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand major theoretical concepts in Early Childhood Education and their impact on child development and learning
  • plan for children’s needs at different stages and ages (2-8 yrs.)
  • explore the role of teachers in creating a positive learning environment for early learning

Workshop Leader

Ms. Sadiya Azeem Durrani brings with her a Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, and a Masters’ Degree in International Relations from the University of Karachi. Her professional experience spans over 15 years, which includes conducting numerous workshops for pedagogical improvement of private as well as progressive public schools. Her focus area is professionalising teaching and leadership at school level with an expertise in Early Childhood Education & Educational Leadership. Currently Sadiya Azeem is teaching as an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at SZABIST University and also works as a training consultant with The British Council of Pakistan.
