Teachers are required to make decisions throughout their career on what to teach and how best to do so. At times they face difficulties in certain complex situations and are unable to make decisions. This interactive workshop is designed for teachers who wish to understand how best to make decisions related to their work. It will help teachers explore the essential skills for making suitable decisions and develop appropriate practices to become efficient decision makers.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand the process of decision making
  • become aware of the concepts and skills that are required when making decisions
  • explore strategies to apply in various hypothetical situations
  • learn ways to make decisions as a team of teachers collaboratively
  • consider ethical decision making in the context of dealing with students

Workshop Leader

Mrs. Nancy J. Lobo brings with her 28 years of experience in the field of education which include 17 years at various middle management positions. She has worked as Assistant Headmistress in Karachi Grammar School as well as the M. Ed. Coordinator and later Deputy Director at Notre Dame Institute of Education (NDIE). She has also taught Educational Leadership and Management to students enrolled in the Master of Education programme at NDIE. It is her interest and experience in school administration that motivates her to conduct workshops for school principals and middle managers.
