Children’s social and emotional health affects their overall development and learning. Research indicates that children who are mentally and socially healthy tend to be happier, show greater motivation to learn, have a more positive attitude toward school, more eagerly participate in class activities, and demonstrate higher academic performance. This workshop will explore the roles and responsibilities of educators to promote meaningful social and emotional development in young children.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand the importance and concept of social and emotional development
  • explore what a healthy relationship looks like in an Early childhood setting
  • learn about the roles and responsibilities of an ECE Teacher in promoting meaningful social and emotional development

Workshop Leader
Ms. Sheetal Suleman holds a Masters degree in Economics from University of Karachi and has completed a year-long Certificate course in Early Childhood Education from Teachers’ Resource Centre. She brings with her our experience of 7 years in teaching as well as coordinating at the Early Years level. She is currently working at Haque Academy in the capacity of an Early Years Facilitator. In addition to that, she has been conducting workshops at TRC.
