Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand what is critical thinking and the underlying assumptions of the concept
  • become aware of how children’s thinking abilities develop naturally and how best these can be nurtured
  • recognise the value of art, play and storytelling in promoting critical thinking skills in children

Workshop Leader

Ms. Noshin Khan brings with her a B.A degree in Early Childhood Education & M.A degree with a major in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University, Canada. She has been teaching in the degree and diploma programs in Early Childhood Education at two educational institutions, Sheridan College and Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada since 2012. She has a sound academic background and teaching expertise in the area of Early Childhood Education and Primary School teaching. In 2010 and 2011, Noshin taught child development in the Early Childhood Education-Certificate Program (ECE-CP) at TRC-IECE, Karachi. She also has eight years of experience as a teacher/coordinator at a private school in Karachi, Pakistan. She is currently working at TRC as Senior Manager and faculty at the TRC-Institute of Early Childhood Education.
