Play is the natural way for young children to learn. This workshop will enable Educators to be able to utilize Play as a vehicle for promoting child development across all major domains by providing meaningful play based experiences for children in a classroom setup. It will not just help participants understand the teachers role but also provide practical strategies in facilitating active learning through integration of Play in their lesson planning.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand the concept and value of Play in facilitating active learning for young children
  • identify the developmental stages of Play
  • learn about the teacher’s role in integrating Play with the curriculum and classroom lesson plans
  • explore planning and implementing developmentally appropriate play activities for children

Workshop Leader
Ms. Samira Essani brings with her an MBA degree from IBA and is also a graduate of the ECE course from TRC in 2010. She brings with her a varied experience of training, teaching and academic coordination in the field of Early Childhood Education for around a decade. She has also worked in the capacity of a Vice principal at River Oaks Academy & is currently a faculty member on the Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) course at TRC.
