Motivation is about encouraging and inspiring students to learn. It is about enhancing love for learning. To ensure optimal learning, it is essential to encourage the reluctant and distracted learner to enjoy and be actively involved in the learning process. This talk session will focus on ways to motivate such students in the secondary classroom.

Workshop Leader

Ms. Mariya Moochhala is a clinical Psychologist who has been working in the field for the past 20 years. Her experience includes primarily working with children and teenagers and identifying their learning challenges and addressing their emotional needs, as well as planning and guiding parents of children with special needs. She has also been a course leader at TRC, teaching the Early Childhood Education module. Currently Mariya is associated with a private school as an in-house counsellor and also heads the child clinics at AKU in the Department of Psychiatry.
