Stories can be a very powerful teaching tool. They can influence children and help them to learn about and develop values of strong character, find ways to overcome their fears and become confident learners. Stories also promote listening and speaking skills, enhance imagination and boost memory. This workshop will focus on aspects of storytelling that can be effectively implemented in the class.

Objectives

  • highlight characteristics of a good story
  • identify elements of effective story telling
  • explore different types of stories

Workshop Leader
Ms. Sheetal Suleman holds a Masters degree in Economics from University of Karachi and has completed a year-long Certificate course in Early Childhood Education from Teachers’ Resource Centre. She brings with her our experience of 7 years in teaching as well as coordinating at the Early Years level. She is currently working at Haque Academy in the capacity of an Early Years Facilitator. In addition to that, she has been conducting workshops at TRC.
