Children, from an early age, need to be sensitized towards peace and all that it entails, and teachers need to be equipped to bring in peace messages into the daily academic and non-academic domains of the classroom environments. Through this workshop, teachers will get a chance to reflect on their teaching skills and practices in order to understand the importance of a peaceful environment in the classroom.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand the concept of peace and the need to integrate it into everyday classroom teaching
  • revisit and re-evaluate their own perspectives and practices regarding peace
  • understand learners and classroom dynamics within the framework of peace education
  • develop interactive teaching-learning material to integrate and support peace messages in everyday classroom activities

Workshop Leader
Ms. Bazla Gul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from SZABIST and a Certificate in Early Childhood and Development from TRC. She brings with her 3 years of experience in the field of education. Currently, she is a member of the Early Childhood Education team at TRC, and is working in the capacity of Coordinator, Early Childhood Education and Development Programme.
