Podcasting is a wonderful way of allowing children to share their work and experiences with a potentially huge audience. Schools can easily promote what they do, and celebrate the achievements of their children through podcasts. This workshop will help teachers to understand what podcast is, the educational benefits of this technology in the classroom, and different end of year activities that can help to Wrap-up the Academic Session through Podcasts.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • familiarise themselves with Podcast technology
  • reflect upon the importance of using Podcasts in schools
  • discuss various End of Year Academic activities to celebrate the achievements of students
  • experience the use of different tools and follow the procedures to create a Podcast
  • plan, create and share Podcasts with a wider audience

Workshop Leader

Ms. Hina Amjad holds a Masters degree in Home Economics and successfully completed Cambridge PDQ as Programme Leader to teach Diploma in Teaching with Digital Technologies. She brings with her 15 years of teaching and training experience in Beaconhouse School System, where she has facilitated teachers to develop their professional skills, conducted workshops and designed training programmes for integrating ICT into the curriculum. As a Regional Education Coordinator, Hina managed and monitored the use of different educational software in teaching and learning in the Southern Region of the school system.
