Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • consider the common misconceptions in teaching grammar
  • be able to view the functioning of grammar in the whole language context
  • experience strategies to teach grammar through meaningful activities
  • learn the importance of self-access materials in the reinforcement of grammar concepts
  • be able to make a paradigm shift from teaching grammar in isolation to teaching it in whole text form, complemented with feedback sessions

Workshop Leader

Ms. Shehla Piracha Imran holds a Masters degree in English Literature and has received a Certificate in Teaching English as a foreign language from International TESOL Training, UK. She has many years of experience in teaching students at all levels as well as training teachers in English Language in both Pakistan and abroad. She also has to her credit articles published on education in major newspapers and magazines.
