Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • reflect on issues faced in understanding poetry
  • explore personal appreciation that can be related to a poem
  • understand intertextuality within words and images of poems
  • identify ways and means to promote appreciation of poetry among learners

English Literature Teachers of O Levels (Classes IX, X and XI)


Workshop Leader

Ms. Shazaf Haider holds a Masters degree in English Literature from Karachi University and brings with her four years of teaching O & A level classes at KGS & Lyceum School. In addition to this she is the author of a published novel and short stories. Much of her writing has been published in the Dawn newspaper. She is currently teaching A level English Literature at St. Patricks School.
