Mathematics is essentially a tool for everyday life and is used in day-to-day situations. This workshop aims at promoting mental calculation skills that will enable children to effectively improve the speed of their calculations.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • become aware of the need to develop an aptitude for mental calculations
  • consider factors to keep in mind when conducting Mental Math lessons
  • learn different strategies which will help in improving the speed of calculations

Ms. Mehnaz Hasnain holds an MBA degree in MIS and is a Gold Medal recipient for securing 1st position throughout the programme. Her teaching career spans over 15 years and includes teaching of Mathematics at renowned schools of Karachi. In addition to that, she has conducted training sessions for teachers in Maths and guided them to improve the speed of their students in performing Mental Calculations. Currently Mehnaz is teaching Mathematics and Additional Mathematics to O level students at Frobel Education Centre.
