Research has proved that a sense of ownership and personal involvement is the key to successful learning. This workshop will enable teachers to explore strategies that can create an active learning classroom and develop autonomous learners.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand the characteristics of an active classroom
  • learn how to develop independent and self-directed learners
  • explore useful strategies to make the teaching content lively through out-of-the-box motivational activities
  • realise the value of relationship building for effective teaching
  • reflect on their own teaching style and highlight areas that they need to work upon to become an inspiring teacher

Workshop Leader

Ms. Humaira Salman holds a Masters degree in Zoology. She has vast experience in conducting trainings for staff and has volunteered coaching and mentoring services in schools. In addition, she has co-authored a series of textbooks and teacher resource books on Social Studies and Maths. She has attended several national and international programmes on education. Currently she is working as a motivational and soft skills trainer, an English facilitator and Organisational Development consultant.
