Celebrations in schools are part and parcel of school life. Figuring out how to plan and put forth effective and successful celebrations in schools requires years of experiments. This workshop will not only provide teachers and administrators a forum to share their own and each other’s celebration experiences but also focus on how to plan and hold successful events and celebrations in connection with the school curriculum..

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • become aware of the need for celebrations in schools and their impact on the development of children
  • discover the connection between school celebrations and ongoing curriculum
  • brainstorm possible and effective in-class and out of class celebrations in a school year
  • explore the main ingredients of an effective celebration
  • design celebration of a school event to develop a cohesive understanding of all the above components

Workshop Leader

Ms. Munira Nadeem is Masters in Mass Communication from the University of Karachi with first class first position. She is a trained public speaker who worked for Pakistan Television Karachi Center as compere of youth and student programmes for ten years. She began her teaching career at the department of Mass Communication and later at Haque Academy, where she is currently serving as the Academic & Administrative Coordinator for Grades 4-6. She is involved in teacher training programmes on a variety of topics and subject areas.
