Stories help to enhance childrens’ visualisation of concepts and give children the chance to explore their own and other’s experiences. When hearing stories, children learn to understand unfamiliar situations, places, and people. Stories help children to keep engaged in learning and encourage purposeful talking and discussion.

Objectives

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • become aware of the role of stories in child development
  • explore the impact of stories on children’s learning
  • identify strategies to enhance the interest of children in reading and listening to stories

Workshop Leader
Ms. Sheetal Suleman holds a Masters degree in Economics from University of Karachi and has completed a year-long Certificate course in Early Childhood Education from Teachers’ Resource Centre. She brings with her an experience of 7 years in teaching as well as coordinating at the Early Years level. She is currently working at Haque Academy in the capacity of an Early Years Facilitator. In addition to that, she has been conducting workshops at TRC.
