In order to teach science subject effectively, teachers need to know what to focus on while planning and teaching. It is also important to ensure meaningful assessment of student learning for on-going development. This workshop will help teachers consider teaching and learning processes as well as outcomes within dynamic social contexts and encourage them to design instructional strategies that link to assessment for learning.

Through this workshop, participants will:

  • understand the role of hands-on experience for students in learning science concepts
  • explore the importance of simple strategies for teaching science
  • design activities to develop students’ interest in learning science
  • design self-assessment process to help students improve their learning

Workshop Leader
Ms. Saman Ali Jafri holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and brings with her 13 years of experience in teaching senior students as well as conducting trainings for the professional development of teachers. During her career in education, she has also participated in science exhibitions, projects and other science related activities. Currently she is teaching O Level Chemistry at The Mama Parsi Girls’ Secondary School and is also enrolled in the B.Ed Leadership and Management Programme at Hamdard University, Karachi.

If TRC cancels a workshop, a full refund will be given to all confirmed participants. Requests for refunds must be received within 5 working days of the workshop.
